Sales Manager Job Description
Experience within the motor trade is essential
Role Purpose
• To drive the standard in customer care
• To manage and deliver the agreed level of sales and profitability through new and used car sales, directly and through a Sales team
• To help the dealership meet and exceed targets through the delivery of an exceptional customer experience
• To exemplify Startin’s Purpose, Principles and Ambition (PPA)
Key Responsibilities and Accountability
 • Maximise opportunities on new and used car sales
• Lead a team to meet and exceed all relevant KPIs
• Provide an effective financial solution for a range of customers through supporting and developing Business Managers
• Help the Sales team maximise profitability on all product and service stock
• Provide a customer-focused approach to help as many people enjoy the Startin motoring experience as possible
• Give the diverse customer base a positive impression of themselves and Startin’s
• Deliver a positive customer experience, in line with Startin’s guidelines
• Anticipate and identify customer needs, and meet and exceed them by relationship building and taking responsibility for resolving customer issues and delivering an exceptional customer experience
• Work with customers to the highest ethical and professional standards to build long-term profitable relationships
• Demonstrate exceptional product knowledge and communicate this appropriately with customers

• Understands the needs of both customers and the company, and demonstrates this in their work

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
• Full valid driving licence held for a minimum of 6 months with fewer than 9 penalty points – 4 years must have passed since reinstatement following any previous disqualifications
 • Evidence of ‘Right to Work in the UK’
• GCSE Maths and English, plus must hold or be working towards all relevant qualifications including those required by the FCA
• Experience working in consumer-focused financial services and dealing with a diverse customer base
• Experience growing and developing a Sales team
• Demonstrable understanding of factors relating to business management, including ethical and legislative matters
