A Startin Story; Jim Bertram, Head of Business Vauxhall Redditch, Takes a look back at his Charity Achievements

09 January 2023

Here at Startin Group we are immensely proud to take a look at the achievements set by one of our own. We catch up with Jim Bertram, Head of Business Vauxhall Redditch, who takes a look back at his charity achievements over the past few years.

We know that our Startin Vauxhall Head of Business, Jim, is somewhat of a superstar. When it comes to raising money for charity we all do what we can where we can to help. Jim has gone above and beyond with charity work after experiencing the devastating loss of his dad back in 2008.
"I had already done a couple of events, but when in 2008 I lost my Dad suddenly, I stopped and didn't do anything further until around 2012/2013 when I started cycling, riding to Buckingham Palace with Punjabi Wolves, followed a few months later with a trip to India for 10 days building houses."
Little did he realise that over the next 10 years, he would raise over £203,000 in his memory.
He has supported the following Charities: Breast Cancer Now, British Heart Foundation, Rangers Charity, Stoke City Community Trust, Help Amber Walk, Jude's Journey, Promised Dreams, Help For Heroes, Brathay Trust, and Acorns. Other events he has taken part in are; 3 peaks challenge, skydive, various speaker nights, golf and spinathons.
His achievements also include:
Credited by Stoke City for creating a legacy within the club for starting fundraising which now brings in over 500 fundraisers every year!
Nominated by Just Giving as Top 1% out of 1 million fundraisers on Just Giving Awards 2014 and 2016 worldwide.
We are extremely proud to have Jim, as part of the Startin Group family. Truly, a wonderful man who has achieved so much, not only for himself but for possibly thousands of people worldwide also!

Thank you, so much Jim!
