First Spy Shots Of The All-New Civic Type R Revealed
Here at Startin Skoda Worcester we absolutely love the Honda Civic Type R! There have been many iterations of the vehicle over the last 30 years, and we're incredibly excited to bring you the first official spy shots of the all-new Civic Type R in an incredible red camoflage livery. On closer inspection, the Civic Type R will continue to carry a wider track than the standard Civic model set to release in 2022, whilst it houses smooth, bulging wheel arch extensions which gives the vehicle a more purposeful stance. The side sills have also been extended, with an aero fin ahead of the rear wheels to clean up airflow along the side of the car, whilst the wheels are bespoke to the Type R.
At the front of the car, it will feature a pair of slim, LED headlight clusters which are connectedto a sportier honeycomb-mesh grille than what will be on the standard Civic. The front bumper is exaggerated and aggressive, with a deep radiator grille extending down to the front splitter, and a pair of air vents are integrated into the bumper to funnel air around the front wheels.
At the rear, the infamous hot hatch retains the light bar that goes across the whole width of the car like that of the standard Civic, but the rear bumper has been redesigned with a pair of vent cut-outs and a large diffuser. This houses a triple-tailpipe exhaust setup, which unlike the outgoing Type R places the largest outlet exhaust pipein the centre. The system is designed to provide a more aggressive note under hard acceleration, while also reducing road noise at cruising speed.
