Closely associated with its next-generation counterpart, the all-new Peugeot 5008 is set to adopt the latest STLA Medium architecture from the Stellantis group. Following in the footsteps of the Peugeot 3008, this innovative SUV will also share its hybrid and battery-electric powertrains.

The hybrid variant of the 5008 is anticipated to integrate a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine alongside a compact battery, a 16kW electric motor, and a six-speed automatic transmission. This combination is poised to deliver a total power output of 100kW, providing a balance of fuel efficiency and dynamic performance.

On the other end of the spectrum, the more premium all-electric E-5008 will present enthusiasts with three distinct powertrain options, catering to diverse preferences and driving needs. This marks a significant step forward in Peugeot's commitment to offering a range of choices in the electric vehicle segment.

Visually, the new 5008 will retain its conventional hatchback silhouette, owing to its greater focus on practicality, more clearly differentiating it from the fastback 3008.

We can expect the interior of the 5008 to showcase an expansive 21-inch panoramic screen, a key element of Peugeot's cutting-edge 'Panoramic i-Cockpit' design. This innovative layout seamlessly integrates the instrument cluster and central infotainment display into a single curved screen, creating a visually striking 'floating' effect.

Adding a touch of personalization, the i-Cockpit offers eight ambient colours to set the interior mood. Premium variants feature chic fabric-covered surfaces, departing from the conventional use of black plastic on the dashboard.

Enhancing user experience, the new infotainment layout retains the current i-Toggle touch panel beneath the main screen. Notably, it introduces 10 configurable icons spread across two pages, accessible through a simple swipe left or right, ensuring user-friendly navigation.

The 5008 is expected to go on sale by the end of 2024.  Prices are estimated to start at around £40,000 given that the new 3008 costs £34,650* for its Allure model.
