100 Years of Ducati: Celebrating a Century of Passion with Ducati Nottingham

On 4 July 2026, Ducati celebrated an extraordinary milestone: 100 years since the company was founded in Bologna on 4 July 1926.

A century later, the Borgo Panigale manufacturer marked its birthday in the most Ducati way possible - surrounded by thousands of Ducatisti, racing icons, historic motorcycles, new model premieres and a sea of red passion at World Ducati Week 2026.

For us at Ducati Nottingham, it was a special moment to be part of. As an official Ducati dealer serving Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Derby, Leicester, Lincoln and the wider East Midlands, we know Ducati is more than a motorcycle brand. It is performance, design, racing history, engineering and emotion all rolled into one.

World Ducati Week 2026: the perfect setting for Ducati’s 100th birthday

There could be no better place to celebrate Ducati’s centenary than World Ducati Week 2026 at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.

From the moment the gates opened, thousands of motorcycles filled the circuit, bringing together riders from around the world for a weekend dedicated to Ducati passion. The atmosphere reflected everything that has made Ducati so unique over the last century - community, racing spirit, innovation, style and the unmistakable bond between the brand and its riders.

One of the most memorable moments was the anniversary parade, with thousands of motorcycles leaving the circuit and crossing the Riviera Romagnola towards Riccione. It created a powerful visual tribute to Ducati’s history and the people who continue to live the brand every day.

Ducati legends past and present

World Ducati Week 2026 also brought together some of the greatest names in Ducati racing history.

The Lap of Honour saw Ducati legends and current champions sharing the track, including names such as Casey Stoner, Loris Capirossi, Troy Bayliss, Carl Fogarty, Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Márquez. For Ducati fans, it was a rare and emotional moment - the riders who helped build the legend of Ducati alongside those still writing the next chapter.

That racing DNA is one of the reasons Ducati remains so special. From MotoGP and WorldSBK to national championships and road-going performance bikes, the connection between racing and production is part of what gives every Ducati its character.

Ducati Nottingham at the heart of the celebration

At Ducati Nottingham, we are proud to represent Ducati during such an important year for the brand.

The 100th anniversary is a celebration of everything Ducati stands for: performance, craftsmanship, Italian design, racing success and the community that surrounds it. Whether you are already a Ducati owner, thinking about your first Ducati or simply love the brand, this centenary year is a brilliant time to get closer to Ducati.

We also have our own photos from the day, capturing some of the atmosphere, bikes and moments that made Ducati’s centenary celebrations so special. These images help bring the story closer to our local Ducati community here in Nottingham and across the East Midlands.

The Lenovo Race of Champions

Another major highlight of World Ducati Week 2026 was the build-up to the Lenovo Race of Champions, where Ducati riders from MotoGP, WorldSBK, WorldSSP and national championships prepared to compete on one-of-a-kind Panigale V4 Tricolore models.

Qualifying brought proper sporting energy to the weekend, with Nicolò Bulega securing pole position ahead of Lorenzo Baldassarri and Francesco Bagnaia.

For Ducati fans, the Race of Champions is always more than a race. It is a celebration of Ducati competition, performance and the riders who push the brand forward.

New Ducati models and centenary highlights

Ducati’s 100th anniversary was not just about looking back. It was also about the future.

Visitors at World Ducati Week 2026 had the chance to discover the full Ducati range, the Collezione 100, the new Superleggera V4 Centenario, and a preview of the new Desmo450 SM, Ducati’s first Supermotard.

The Heritage Village also gave visitors a journey through Ducati history, with historic bikes, passionate owners and the “100 Years, 100 Stories, 1 Legend” exhibition. It was a reminder that Ducati’s story has never been built by machines alone, but by the people who ride, race, collect, restore and celebrate them.

Automotive Compliance Ltd's permissions as a Principal Firm allows Startin Group Ltd, Thomas Startin Junr Ltd to act as a credit broker, not as a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of lenders and to act as an agent on behalf of the insurer for insurance distribution activities only.

We can introduce you to a selected panel of lenders, which includes manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent. An introduction to a lender does not amount to independent financial advice and we act as their agent for this introduction. Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked directly to the particular franchise you are purchasing your vehicle from, who are usually able to offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions. If they are unable to make you an offer of finance, we then seek to introduce you to whichever of the other lenders on our panel is able to make the next best offer of finance for you. Our aim is to secure the best deal you are eligible for from our panel of lenders. Lenders may pay a fixed commission to us for introducing you to them, calculated by reference to the vehicle model or amount you borrow. Different lenders may pay different commissions for such introductions, and manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement, all of which are set by the lender concerned. If you ask us what the amount of commission is, we will tell you in good time before the Finance agreement is executed.
