Choosing Your Next Motability Car? Startin Group Makes It Simple

Date Posted: 05 July 2026

Choosing your next Motability vehicle should feel exciting, not overwhelming. At Startin Group, we are here to make the process simple, supportive and personal from the moment you start looking.

The Motability Scheme helps eligible customers exchange their qualifying mobility allowance for a brand-new vehicle, giving them greater independence, everyday freedom and reassurance on the road. Whether you are new to Motability or already part of the Scheme, our friendly teams can help you understand your options and find a vehicle that suits your lifestyle.

With changes to the Motability Scheme coming into effect from 1 July 2026, it is also a good time to understand what may be different for new orders or new leases from that date. Our teams can help explain your options clearly, and we have also created a dedicated guide covering the 2026 Motability Scheme changes in more detail.

Helping you find the right Motability car

Every customer is different, so the right Motability vehicle depends on what matters most to you.

You may need something compact and easy to park, a family SUV with more space, an automatic, a hybrid, an electric car, a vehicle with a higher seating position or something with a larger boot. You may also be thinking about access, comfort, running costs, mileage, passenger space or future journeys.

At Startin Group, our Motability specialists can help you compare options clearly and choose with confidence

Motability support across Startin Group

Startin Group represents a wide range of trusted manufacturers, giving customers access to a strong choice of Motability vehicles across our dealerships.

Depending on availability and current offers, our teams can help you explore models from brands including Honda, Kia, Nissan, Peugeot, Renault, Dacia, Suzuki, Vauxhall and BYD.

Whether you are looking for a practical hatchback, a spacious SUV, a hybrid, a fully electric car or something suitable for everyday family life, we can help guide you through the choices.

What can our Motability team help with?

Our team can support you at every stage of your Motability journey. That includes helping you understand eligibility, comparing suitable vehicles, arranging test drives, explaining Advance Payments, discussing adaptations where needed and guiding you through the order process.

We can also help you think about practical details such as seating position, boot space, ease of getting in and out, charging options for electric vehicles and what you may need from your next car day to day.

The aim is simple: to make Motability feel easier to understand and easier to manage.

Thinking about electric or hybrid Motability?

More customers are considering electric and hybrid vehicles through the Motability Scheme. If you are unsure whether an electric car would work for you, our team can help explain range, charging, home charging options, public charging and day-to-day running.

We can also help you compare electric, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and petrol options, so you can make a decision that suits your journeys and lifestyle.

Startin Group Ltd and Thomas Startin Junr Ltd are Appointed Representatives of Automotive Compliance Ltd, who is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA No 497010). Automotive Compliance Ltd's permissions as a Principal Firm allows Startin Group Ltd, Thomas Startin Junr Ltd to act as a credit broker, not as a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of lenders and to act as an agent on behalf of the insurer for insurance distribution activities only.

We can introduce you to a selected panel of lenders, which includes manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent. An introduction to a lender does not amount to independent financial advice and we act as their agent for this introduction. Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked directly to the particular franchise you are purchasing your vehicle from, who are usually able to offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions. If they are unable to make you an offer of finance, we then seek to introduce you to whichever of the other lenders on our panel is able to make the next best offer of finance for you. Our aim is to secure the best deal you are eligible for from our panel of lenders. Lenders may pay a fixed commission to us for introducing you to them, calculated by reference to the vehicle model or amount you borrow. Different lenders may pay different commissions for such introductions, and manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement, all of which are set by the lender concerned. If you ask us what the amount of commission is, we will tell you in good time before the Finance agreement is executed.
