Kia Vision Meta Turismo: Redefining the Grand Tourer for the Digital Age

Kia has revealed full details of its Vision Meta Turismo concept car at Milan Design Week, giving drivers an exciting look at how the brand imagines the future of electric grand touring.

First shown in Korea in December 2025 to celebrate Kia’s 80th anniversary, the Vision Meta Turismo made its global debut at Milan Design Week in April 2026. The concept brings together performance driving, immersive digital interaction and lounge-like comfort, creating a bold new vision of what an electric grand tourer could become.

At Startin Kia, we are always excited to see how Kia continues to push forward with design, technology and electric mobility. While the Vision Meta Turismo is a concept car rather than a production model, it gives a clear sense of Kia’s future direction.

A futuristic take on the grand tourer

The Vision Meta Turismo is inspired by the elegance of 1960s long-distance touring, but reimagined for the digital age. Its low, wide stance, cab-forward shape and sharp rear design give it a confident, dynamic appearance.

Kia says the concept is shaped by its Opposites United design philosophy, combining contrasting ideas such as soft surfaces and technical geometry, emotion and technology, performance and comfort. The result is a car that feels futuristic, but still deeply focused on the driver experience.

Designed around three core experiences

The Vision Meta Turismo focuses on three key ideas:

  • Performance driving
  • Immersive digital interaction
  • Lounge-like space and comfort

This means the concept is not just about how the car looks. It is about how the driver and passengers feel inside it.

The driver’s area is designed to feel focused and performance-led, with an ultra-slim instrument cluster, lightweight seat structure and controls designed to make the car feel more engaging. The passenger space is more relaxed, with a lounge-style seating position and technology designed around augmented reality content.

A new kind of digital driving experience

One of the most interesting parts of the Vision Meta Turismo is the way it blends physical controls with digital technology.

The concept includes analogue-style controllers that interact with digital systems, including a virtual gear shifter, launch control and a driving mode dial. These features are designed to add more feeling, sound and feedback to electric driving.

Kia has also introduced three digital experience modes:

Speedster focuses on performance driving, using lighting, sound and augmented reality to enhance the feeling of speed.

Dreamer is designed for urban environments, using AR displays and digital layers to create a more immersive experience.

Gamer is used when the vehicle is stationary, turning the car into a virtual racing and social experience.

This shows how Kia is exploring ways to make electric vehicles feel more emotional, personal and interactive.

Comfort with a lounge-like interior

The Vision Meta Turismo also looks at how future electric cars could become more flexible living spaces.

One of the standout interior ideas is the passenger seat, which can rotate 180 degrees when the car is stationary. This allows the front passenger to face rear passengers, creating a more social, lounge-like environment.

It is a strong example of how future EV design could make better use of interior space, especially as electric vehicle platforms continue to give designers more freedom.
