Peugeot’s official UK site confirms that selected new Peugeot electric models are eligible for the £1,500 grant, helping reduce the cost of moving into a new electric vehicle.

What is the Peugeot Electric Car Grant?

The Electric Car Grant is a UK Government scheme designed to reduce the upfront cost of eligible new electric vehicles. GOV.UK states that the grant supports drivers by reducing the prices of eligible new EVs priced at or under £37,000.

For qualifying Peugeot models, this means a £1,500 saving can be applied at the point of order, subject to eligibility and terms.

This makes it a useful opportunity for drivers who are considering a new electric Peugeot but want to keep monthly payments or upfront costs as manageable as possible.

Peugeot Care for added reassurance

Peugeot states that every model eligible for the grant comes with Peugeot Care, which is designed to provide cover for the electric motor, charging system, powertrain, and electrical and mechanical components for up to 8 years or 100,000 miles, subject to its terms.

Terms and conditions

The following terms are based on Peugeot UK’s published Electric Car Grant wording.

The Government Electric Car Grant of £1,500 is not exclusive to Peugeot and is provided by the UK Government. The following new Peugeot vehicles are eligible for the grant: E-208, E-2008, E-308, E-408 and E-Rifter. Peugeot also lists E-308 SW in its eligible model table.

The grant is available at the point of order to private retail customers who are UK residents only. It applies to qualifying vehicles ordered from 16 July 2025. The grant will be deducted from the on-the-road Manufacturer Recommended Retail Price of the qualifying vehicle at the point of order and cannot be redeemed for cash or combined with any other retail offer unless explicitly stated.

Eligibility for the grant is determined by the UK Government. The retailer is responsible for verifying that the customer meets the eligibility requirements set by the UK Government. If eligible, the retailer will apply for the grant on the customer’s behalf.

Peugeot Care consists of 3 years’ standard manufacturer warranty plus up to 5 years of special coverage, activated when the vehicle is maintained in the participating Peugeot network in line with the service programme. It is valid up to the next scheduled service and reactivated for vehicles up to 8 years old or 100,000 miles, whichever happens first.
